Building Lifelong Legacies for Foster Youth
Many foster youth enter adolescence already carrying loss, instability, and broken trust.
By the time they reach their teens, too many have learned that support is conditional, and safety is never guaranteed.
We don’t wait until youth are expected to stand on their own. Emberkind begins in early adolescence, surrounding foster youth with consistent, peer-based chosen families while they are still navigating the system, -so connection, care, and hope aren’t something they have to wait for.

Who we mean when we say “Embers”
At Emberkind, each young person is an Ember who joins a small, intentional group committed to growing, supporting, and protecting one another over time.
These groups are called Legacies intentional peer families designed to last beyond placements, programs, and age limits.
